Our inspiration is the iconic image “Earthrise” showing the Earth rising above the Moon, sent to Earth by the astronauts of the Apollo 8 mission on Christmas Eve 1968. They went into space to explore the moon and instead discovered the Earth. The image went around the world and became a symbol of Spaceship Earth and the vulnerability of our planet. Today, more than ever, we need to understand that the Earth is a fragile sphere, unique in the entire universe. That’s why we are committed to a more sustainable world, helping to ensure that humanity can use comprehensive, real-time data from space to target the problems on our precious planet.
