RFA ONE is a three-stage launch vehicle powered by RFA’s in-house developed Helix ORSC engines. The launcher is constructed of low-cost stainless steel, uses industrial components from the automotive, oil and energy industries, among others, and features an OTV called Redshift. Later variants of the launcher will allow recovery of the first stage and reusability of the engines.

REDSHIFT OTV

Ensures accurate delivery to the desired orbit for every payload onboard, in mission profiles from LEO to GTO.

HELIX VAC ENGINE

Staged-combustion technology provides 30% higher efficiency than regular gas-generator cycle engines. The Helix engine and its turbopump are designed for
additive manufacturing and automotive scale serial production.

HELIX ENGINE CLUSTER

Cluster of 9 staged combustion Helix engines with sea-level nozzles. These run oxygen-rich with a more environmentally friendly RP1 version, are regeneratively cooled and all have TVC.

STAGE STRUCTURES

Common-bulkhead tank design from inexpensive stainless steel construction.
Validated by cryogenic proof test and flight ready.

INTERSTAGES

Automotive grade composites applied on in-house developed automated tape-laying machine. Staging performed by pneumatic separation system.
